Christmas and the New Year brought a welcome break, but also a hiatus in construction due to a traditional seasonal bout of viral infections, leaving everyone feeling like a wrung-out rag.
The kitchen table in the main house was commandered to strip the Crittal windows, which had nine layers of paint on them. The windows had been rescued from a neighbouring property 30 years previously with this intended use.
The builders have made good progress, with the main studio now fully insulated and plastered ready for decorating, and all new electrical wiring installed. The re-roofed entrance lobby and kiln room are now complete and awaiting finishing works and the installation of the kilns.
